Have You Considered a Small Publisher?

Many writers are finding truly wonderful homes at small publishers.

I ran across this article recently and, if you've been finding yourself rejected by the big boys (and girls) in New York, you should investigate your other options.

Victoria Allman's post on Write on the Water shares her viewpoints of selling and publishing her first two books in partnership with a small publisher, NorLights Press.

  1. Absolutely! In fact, I'm with a small publisher, and it has been an amazing experience so far. Thanks for this link!

  3. Linda, great idea! You can find my small publisher at: http://www.rhemalda.com/

They are very new, but going far, quickly.

  4. I just placed a book with Books We Love Publishing Partners and plan to submit more to them. The publishing venture evolved from a promotional site, so there is already some built in support there. http://www.bwlpp.com/

They put the book out as an e-book and paperback.

  7. Linda, I always suggest authors try the new small publishers first! Not only is it a great way to learn about the business, it is usually a great experience as well! My first trilogy, Future Imperfect, and first novella are through a small epublisher and it was such a tremendous experience I can't say enough good about it! Smaller publishers can also lend credence to your writing "resume'" so to speak and can teach new authors a high level of professionalism!
